GP Vanier Interact Club
The GP Vanier Rotary Interact Club is back in action.
As a result of a very successful Clubs Day, we have twenty nine students signed up, with a good mixture of all grades, nine through twelve. We will keep you posted weekly as we work together to have some SERIOUS FUN.
We held our first formal meeting on Thursday, October 4th. Rotarian, Mark Purcell was our special guest. The executive spoke about the past projects and events our club has participated in, and Mrs. Pacholuk gave an overview of what Rotary Interact is all about. We then worked on our first "Rotary Service Project" for the year - Books for the Cure. Thirty posters were made to be put up around the school and we talked about working at the sorting and sale of books. We already have a group of volunteers just waiting for the details!!!!
Rotary International Exchange Program:
Rotarians Dave White, Naomi Carmichael, Gene Morris, Lyle Brodie, & Randy Wiwchar hosted students and/or parents interested in the Student Exchange program at the "Meet the Teacher" evening, and/or the Clubs Day at G.P. Vanier. As a result we have four excellent cadidates for the year long exchange, and eight for the summer exchange. Interviews for the year long exchange are scheduled for this week.
The GP Vanier Rotary Interact Club meetings weekly on Thursdays from 11:45 to 12:25 in room 104A. Rotarians are invited to attend to see Rotary youth in action. Interact meetings also count as Makeups. Please call Isabelle prior to the meeting at 338-2110, as times and location occassionaly change due to school events. Looking forward to sharing Interact with you.
