The Courtenay Rotary Club.......
The Courtenay Rotary Club has taken on the Courtenay Train Station as a major project in conjunction with the Rotary Trail. The first order of business was to get a new roof on to the building so that it would be dry for the winter. Partners helping to move this project along with both monetary and sweat equity contributions have been the Strathcona Sunrise Rotary Club and the Young Professionals of the Comox Valley.
All of these groups look forward to next year when the refurbishing of the Train Station can continue. The Courtenay Rotary Club is very appreciative of the businesses that have stepped up to help to make the refurbishing of the Train Station a reality by either discounting their services or outright donations. Thank you goes out to Ironwood Shake & Tile Company, Got Gutters, Slegg Lumber, Coastal Home Improvement Centre and Western One Rentals.
A special mention goes to local author James Krause who has written his second book entitled " Destination Vancouver Island " . Mr Krause gave 100 copies of his book as a donation to the Courtenay and Strathcona Sunrise Rotary Clubs which in turn sell for $20 with all proceeds going towards the refurbishment of the Train Station
